Introduction to Norwegian Summer Fjords
The unique coast of Norway is your destination on this 7 night, full board ocean cruise. Cruise along the coast, visiting picturesque towns, stunning glaciers and captivating fjords before cruising back to Dublin. This cruise offers a truly memorable experience and should not be missed.
Itinerary
Day 1: Dover, England:
On arrival in London you will be transferred to the port for check in and boarding. The ship departs in the evening for Bergen, Norway.
Day 2: Cruising, North Sea:
Your first full day onboard is spent cruising north, along the coast and across the North Sea. Take some time to enjoy the many facilities available onboard Balmoral.
Day 3: Bergen, Norway:
A historic Hanseatic League trading and fishing port.
With a dramatic mountain backdrop, Bergen preserves a colourful mix of cobbled streets, picturesque medieval houses, colonaded shops and lively cafés. Don’t miss the old harbour’s famous Bryggen quayside. You can visit the nearby summer home of composer Edvard Grieg at Troldhaugen, set amid glorious countryside – or take a trip to the top of Mount Floeyen with its panoramic views.
Day 4: Olden, Norway:
Situated within the magnificent Nordfjord.
At the head of three valleys amid the sublimely peaceful surroundings of the Inner Nordfjord, idyllic Olden is the key to a not-to-be-missed journey up to the frozen cascade of the million-years-old and ever-advancing Briksdal Glacier, best-known of the gigantic Jostedal’s many icy arms.
Day 5: Flam, Norway:
Little Flam lies at the southern end of the Aurlandsfjord, one of the branches of the beautiful Sognefjord.
From the tiny village you can enjoy a spectacular 40-minute rail journey spiralling nearly 3,000ft up a steep mountain gorge to Myrdal. Flam claims Norway’s oldest church (built in 1667) – and with its traditionally decorated walls also arguably the prettiest.
Day 5: Vik, Norway:
An old Viking settlement.
Vik is located at the heart of Sognefjord along the south bank. The town itself offers a huge variety of attractions, a must see are the silver workshops as well as the Christmas markets. From here you can discover the breathtaking Arnafjord or the World Heritage landscape of Nærøyfjorden.
Day 6: Farsund, Norway:
The stunning municipality of Farsund.
The incredible scenery around Farsund has inspired countless artists, with a rugged coastline, sandy beaches, and many beautiful islands, mountainous and forest regions.
Day 7: Cruising, North Sea:
Your last day onboard is spent cruising south, away from Norway and on to your final port of call, Dover. Take a chance to relax onboard Balmoral, or take part in one of the many onboard activities.
Day 8: Dover, England:
Your cruise ends this morning with your arrival in Dover. Disembarkation begins after breakfast, and you will be met by your driver for your transfer to the airport and your flight home.

Accommodation details
Balmoral
At 43,000 tonnes and carrying around 1,300 passengers, Balmoral is the largest and most recent ship in the Fred. Olsen fleet, and the first to bear the name of the Scottish home of the Royal Family. Balmoral offers a wide choice of facilities, yet is still small enough to let you feel entirely at ease.
The public rooms are designed on a Scottish theme, but overall the atmosphere is entirely British. The main restaurant, Ballindalloch, takes it’s name from the Speyside village and castle, while the two other formal restaurants are named after the rivers Avon and Spey. You can dine informally in the Palms Cafe, while the sea-pub “Morning Light” is the place for some of the evening entertainment, alongside the main shows and dancing in the Neptune and Lido lounges. If you prefer something quieter, why not enjoy magnificent views while enjoying a drink in the Observatory Lounge.
Among it’s other facilities Balmoral has swimming pools, jacuzzis and a gym where you can get fit while enjoying superb sea views. You don’t have to be too energetic – relax in one of the on deck jacuzzis, enjoy a spa treatment, or just top up your tan while reading a book from the well stocked library.
