Itinerary

Day 1: Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy: Depart 17.00

On arrival in Rome you will be transferred to the port to board Norwegian Jade. The ship sets sail into the Mediterranean in the evening.

Day 2: Cruise, Mediterranean

Your first full day onboard is spent cruising south, around the tip of Italy and on to your first port of call, Katakolon, Greece.

Day 3: Katakolon, Greece: Arrive 08.00 Depart 17.00

Near Olympia, where the ancient Greeks flocked every four years to celebrate the ancient games dedicated to Zeus, Katakolon has a special feel. You’ll find ruins of the Temple of Hera and remnants of what was once the first Olympic Stadium. In fact, historical landmarks can be seen where ever you turn.

Day 4: Pireaus (Athens), Greece: Arrive 08.00 Depart 17.00

See the Parthenon and the Theater of Dionysos at the Acropolis or one of the other countless ancient sites in this city that dates back 7,000 years. The city’s lively Plaka and Monastiraki Market are worth a look to find the perfect souvenir or simply interact with the local culture.

Day 5: Izmir (Ephesus), Turkey: Arrive 08.00 Depart 18.00

Archaeologically rich, historic Izmir dates back over 5,000 years. Virtually rebuilt from scratch in 1922, Izmir is a booming city today. The ancient city of Ephesus, home to the Artemis Temple and the Zeus Altar, is one of the world’s best preserved archaeological sites.

Day 6: Cruise, Mediterranean

Leave Turkey behind and enjoy your day sailing to Alexandria. Take some time to enjoy the many onboard facilities or just sit back and watch the world go by.

Day 7: Alexandria, Egypt: Arrive 06.00 Overnight Stay

Egypt’s second largest city literally layers ancient culture with acute modernism by building massive urban structures directly atop many antiquities. The result is a fascinating conglomeration well worth exploring. It is also a perfect gateway to the treasures you’ll find in Cairo and Luxor.

Day 8: Alexandria, Egypt: Overnight Stay Depart 18.00

With an overnight stay in Alexandria you will have plenty of time to enjoy the Egyptian delights of the city and beyond.

Day 9: Cruise, Mediterranean

Your final days onboard are spent cruising back across the Mediterranean, away from Egypt and on to your final destination, Civitavecchia (Rome). Enjoy the varied entertainment onboard, or sample some of the delicious gourmet cuisine.

Day 10: Cruise, Mediterranean

Continue your cruise across the Mediterranean on your final day onboard. Sit back and relax, or pick up that last minute gift from the onboard duty free shops.

Day 11: Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy: Arrive 05.00

The ship arrives into the port in the early morning, with disembarkation beginning after breakfast. You will be met by your guide for your transfer to the airport and flight home.
